SXSWi: Petting Fur & Killing Mobsters

I previously announced the panel proposal I submitted for SXSW Music: The Death of Vinyl.

Now, I’m proud to announce another panel that I will be involved in, this time for SXSW Interactive, titled Petting Fur, Killing Mobsters for Fun and Profit. We have made it to the voting stage of the panel application process, and now need your support!

In general, this panel will explore monetization in social gaming. Some questions that will be relevant:

  • Has Facebook Currency or iTunes changed public perception and usage of micropayments? (US consumer impression)
  • What opportunities are available in social media marketing? (RockYou!, Razorfish, Massive, etc.)
  • Does a multiplatform strategy (web + iPod + Android + other) provide optimized experience (Zynga, Gendai, Others)
  • Can interactive media partnerships with traditional media such as RockYou! and MTV Interactive to Alexa Chung drive success?
  • Is there a role of games for business networks? Why should LinkedIn want to be in this space?

The other panelists that will also be involved in this discussion include: Eugene Hsu from Challenge Games, and potentially Austin Chang from MTV Interactive and Jia Shen from RockYou!.

I hope you would find this topic to be interesting and worthy of your support. Please click on the logos below and vote (thumbs up)! Be sure you are registered and signed in, in order for the vote to count. Thanks!

UPDATE: Jia Shen, co-founder of RockYou!, will be joining the panel!
