Feds to Tax Online Purchases
The New York Post reports that a bill is likely to be introduced this week to force online retailers like eBay and Amazon.com to start collecting sales taxes fro online shoppers on behalf of states from people who shop online or through mail order.
Now, there have been attempts to do this before.. but this time around it may actually happen. For larger retailers like Amazon, I don’t think it’s a big deal.. both from the consumer standpoint and from the retailer / IT.. but I wonder what this means for smaller online retailers…
